Automations

How to Access

Select the settings icon next to the building name and select the desired Automation (Seasonal Lockout or Economy Set Back)

Seasonal Lockout

By selecting this Automation, you can limit temperature setpoints for a specific building during specific times of the year.

Season Selection

  • Cooling Season: Configure limits for the cooling period (e.g., summer).

  • Heating Season: Switch to configure limits for heating (e.g., winter).

Click the desired season tab to set parameters for that season.

Date Range

  • Start Date: Enter the date when the seasonal lockout begins.

  • End Date: Enter the date when the seasonal lockout ends.

Note: These are required to activate the seasonal setting.

Cool Setpoint Limit

  • This slider sets the maximum allowed cooling setpoint temperature during the lockout period.

  • Example: If set to 70°F, occupants cannot set the cooling temperature above 70°F during the specified dates.

Cool Setpoint Limit Restore Value

  • This slider sets the temperature value to restore the limit to once the lockout period ends.

  • It ensures the system returns to a pre-defined state after the season ends.

Heat Setpoint Limit

  • Use the slider to set the minimum allowed heating temperature.

  • Example: If set to 68°F, occupants cannot set the thermostat below 68°F during the heating season.

Heat Setpoint Limit Restore Value

  • Use this slider to define what temperature the system should revert to after the heating season ends.

  • It acts as a default reset value for the heating setpoint limit.

Status Toggle

  • Shows whether the seasonal lockout is Enabled or Disabled.

  • Enabled (Green): The lockout is active.

  • Disabled (Orange): The lockout is inactive.

  • To disable or enable simply click on the current status.

Steps to Configure Cooling Season Lockout

  1. Click the Cooling Season tab (should be selected by default).

  2. Set the Start Date and End Date.

  3. Adjust the Cool Setpoint Limit to your desired limit.

  4. Adjust the Cool Setpoint Limit Restore Value (optional).

  5. Ensure the status shows Enabled.

  6. Click Update to save the settings.

Steps to Configure Heating Season Lockout

  1. Click the Heating Season tab.

  2. Set the Start Date and End Date.

  3. Adjust the Heat Setpoint Limit using the slider.

  4. Adjust the Heat Setpoint Limit Restore Value if necessary.

  5. Confirm the status shows Enabled.

  6. Click Update to apply the settings.

Economy Set Back

The Economy Setback settings allow you to reduce energy consumption by automatically adjusting heating or cooling setpoints during specified time periods. This helps optimize building performance during off-hours or low-occupancy periods.

Setting Mode

  • Heat Settings: Configures setbacks for heating periods.

  • Cool Settings: Switches to configure cooling setbacks.

Click the appropriate tab based on whether you're setting a heating or cooling setback.

Setback Entries (Setback 1–4)

Each setback includes the following fields:

a. Time Field (Clock Icon)

  • Input the time period for the setback by clicking on the clock icon and selecting the desired time (e.g., 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM).

  • Use a standard 24-hour or AM/PM format based on system configuration.

b. Temperature Field (Thermometer Icon)

  • Enter the setback temperature for that period.

    • For heating, this is the lower temperature to maintain energy efficiency.

    • For cooling, this would be a higher temperature.

c. Enable/Disable Toggle

  • Off (Orange): The setback is inactive.

  • When clicked, it toggles to On (Green), enabling the setback.

  • Only active setbacks will be applied during operation.

You can configure up to four different setback periods.

Steps to Configure Cool Setbacks

  1. Ensure the Cool Settings tab is selected.

  2. For each desired setback (1–4):

    • Enter a time range in the field with the clock icon (e.g., 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM).

    • Enter a target setback temperature in the field with the thermometer icon (e.g., 76°F).

    • Toggle the switch to On to activate the setback.

  3. Click Update to save the configuration.

Steps to Configure Heat Setbacks

  1. Ensure Heat Settings tab is selected.

  2. For each desired setback (1–4):

    • Enter a time range.

    • Enter a target setback temperature.

    • Toggle the switch to On to activate it.

  3. Click Update to save the configuration.

Tips

  • Stagger your setbacks to avoid overlap.

  • Use cooler setpoints during nights or unoccupied hours for maximum savings.

  • If using Cool Settings instead, switch tabs and follow the same process with higher cooling temperatures during inactive hours.
